Hello Alila, while Balinese people are friendly, they can be very enthusiastic but not fully understanding guests' requests properly. This exists not only in Alila, but in other hotels as well, even Aman.
However during my stay, the service at the restaurant was slow, and again, sometimes some staffs did not understand our requests (special dietary needs, recommendation), and they didn't bother to ask someone else to help us.
Housekeeping service was not consistent either, we went out in the morning one day and came back around afternoon, our room was not serviced till we call front desk.
If the service can catch up and match the beautiful view of the villas, it'd be great.
