I find this thread to be quite funny as I've been hesitant to post this before now. I know that what I’m going to say is considered heresy on this board.

This summer I flew business on a *A award YEG-YVR-NRT-SIN-PER. YEG-YVR-NRT on AC (20 hr connection to spend time near NRT), NRT-SIN on NH (stop), SIN-PER on SQ. I thought the flight/service on AC flights was quite a bit better than the NH flight and that the AC flight was on par (if not even better) than the SQ. Now, I’m not a wine drinker so maybe that is the key difference between my experience and that of others? I also realize that the J service on SQ from SIN-PER is different than on longer flights.

Food: I ordered the beef on AC. On SQ I ordered the steak using book the cook. I enjoyed both meals; one was not really any better than the other.

Service: I don’t know if I was going into the AC flight with very low expectations, and if I was also going into the SQ flight with very high expectations. I had never flown SQ before, but was expecting the service on SQ to be light years ahead of what was received on AC. I found the service level on both flights to be comparable (and high quality).

Seats: I prefer the pods to what was offered on NH or the seats I had on SQ.

AVOD: I did really prefer the AVOD on SQ. However, I got a good chuckle by the fact that the moving map on the AC flight worked properly, and the one on my SQ flight was not.

On another note, I found the FA’s on AC to be quite pleasant. I went into Narita during my overnight at NRT. On the bus trip back to the hotel, I ended up standing next to a couple of the FA’s who worked J on my flight and ended up having a conversation with them. The FA’s were far from being the dragons often described here.
