I stand corrected. A quick Google search came up with "a 30 minute seaplane flight or a 3 hour speedboat ride from Male". 3 Hours in a boat? I'll stick to the plane....
And just remember, the regular seaplane is the CHEAP way to get there. The documentation I have from 2008 also shows the following options:
Private Seaplane - $2500 one way for up to 15 people
Private Luxury Cruiser -$2500 + 10% service charge one way for up to 15 people
