Actually, this is not true. You will receive Platinum credentials at the beginning of 2010 with the ability to choose one Choice Benefit for being Platinum. DL will then mail out Diamond credentials in "Spring 2010" and you will have the ability to pick two more Choice Benefits. In other words, those making Diamond at the outset will not lose a Choice Benefit.
This has been confirmed by Delta in one of their postings on this board.
