Exactly. I actually had a DL-coded, NW-operated LAX-LAS segment last week that NW processed the upgrade on...albeit at the 3 day mark instead of the 5 day even though "R" inventory was available the entire time. I wound up not taking the flight though.

Why would Delta spend time and money to get this fixed since it will soon be a non-issue when there is a single operating certificate? DL is already changing NW flight numbers to align with the DL system, in prep for the SOC.
They may just want for Deltamatic to become the reservations platform in Q1 and for all NW flight numbers to go away.
