Back when I was a 1P, back when all but GS were Zone 1, my teenage daughter was the same way even though she was a 2P. I just said "Fine! You can stay here and board with these people, and I will continue to work my way forward to the back of our boarding group." Sometimes she would stay. Her brother, also a 2P, was always smart enough to come with me. My daughter still harasses me as I try to make my way to the Red Carpet.
