Yesterday morning at ABE, I was waiting to board a Mesa CRJ to ORD. No red carpet at ABE, BTW. I was about 15 feet from the podium. A fellow was standing next to me whose BP indicated he was a 1P. When the GA (a Comair employee) called GS and 1K pax to board, Mr. 1P literally elbowed passed me and marched to the podium ahead of everyone else. The GA tore his flight coupon at the perforation and handed him his piece without even looking at the BP.
I approached next and declared in a voice loud enough for Mr. 1P to hear, "I guess Premier Exec is the new 1K!" The GA was clueless about what I was talking about, and didn't look at my BP either.
As I headed up the jetway, Mr. 1P explained to me that the GAs typically go from boarding GSs and 1Ks to Seating Area 1, bypassing a call to 1Ps (which, in my experience is sometimes, but not always, true). He said that gave him "permission" to board first. Love the logic. Not!
