We also stayed a week at the Ihilani on Oahu.
The deluxe ocean view rooms are great.They are in the 700 square foot range.
You need a rental car here.Waikiki is 30-45 minutes on a good day.Pricey and limited selection here.a wal-mart is 10 minutes for supplies.
The lagoons are safe and sheltered,as opposed to the open ocean.(the jellyfish still come in 8-10 days after a full moon.)
If you want busy,go to Waikiki.Ihilani is a laid back and quiet area,something that Waikiki was like 25 years ago.
