Oh, you are sooo very wrong. How do you think the AA loophole was closed? And the Air Berlin, amongst many others. BA Revops are well aware of these schemes and scams and actively hunt abusers. You see, about a year ago, regular BA agents began noticing an enormous increase of other airline ticket stock usage to avoid paying the fuel surcharge. Some of these fares were so ridiculously low, these passengers were paying less than staff would pay on benefits! One Flyertalk poster even offered a Step by Step guide to Avoiding the Fuel Surcharge...easily found on Google, and the author even included copies of his used etkts as proof of his legitimacy...only problem, he blocked out the name but was ignorant enough to leave the etkt number for all to see. Not someone intelligent enough for me to take advice from personally. Now, BA tracks each ticket issued on other airline stock, and I assure you, they most certainly do have and utilise the resources to track this loss of revenue.
