DL Elites (Silver/Gold/Plat) have a 2 bag 70 lbs allowance. For me, this is a huge benefit of DL Silver. When traveling in First or BE that allowance is 3 bags 70 lbs.

As Per DL.com:
Delta SkyMiles Medallion members, including our Platinum, Gold, and Silver medallions and Northwest's Elite members traveling in coach within the United States or Internationally will receive up to two bags, up to 70 pounds each, for free on Delta, Northwest and Delta Connections-operated flights only. Delta SkyMiles Medallion members, including our Platinum, Gold, and Silver medallions, and Northwest's Elite members confirmed at check-in in First Class or BusinessElite, traveling within the United States or Internationally will receive up to three bags, up to 70 pounds each, for free on Delta, Northwest and Delta Connections-operated flights only.
A comparison of DL Silver to CO Silver (DL Silver looks better
)
DL
Silver advantages/disadvantages over CO
Silver:
Advantages of DL Silver (compared to CO Silver)
-DL offers SkyTeam Elite, which is more valuable that *S that CO Silvers get.
-Bags are 70 lbs for DL Silvers not 50 like with CO. <--big deal for me.
-Companion upgrades permitted on K+ fares, whereas CO Silvers do not get companion upgrades.
-Can select priority seating
including Exit rows (and CO Silvers cannot select Exit Rows on CO) <--- Huge difference.
Disadvantages of DL Silver (compared to CO Silver)
-DL Silvers traveling in Economy Class do not get access to the priority security line, whereas CO Silvers do.
All other benefits between DL and CO seem to be comparable.
