There is one Marriott close to SC on south Fig downtown. Its 2 miles away but not walking distance. I always stay in Manhattan Beach at the Marriott or the MB Residence Inn. Its 20 miles to SC and UCLA from there and plan on an avg drive time of 45 minutes. could be less depending on time of travel. UCLA has a couple of Marriott Properties in Beverly Hills/Santa Monica area. those would be relatively close. Also close to UCLA would be a CY in Century City and the Hollywood Renaissance. I havent stayed at these so I can't vouch for the property. There aren't any properties walking distance of either school. You don't want to be walking distance to USC... and that is from a USC alum.
