Good point...calling them makes no sense, you're 100% right..anyway it's one of the main benefits of OW and I would imagine a recently added airline has had their audit done..

I've done a fair bit of OW flights over the last 10 years and LA has been the only airline not being able to do luggage check through at all times/stations so I'd imagine the odds for the OP are very high indeed.
