This morning, I called Marriott Elite Reservations just to make sure that I had a smoking reserved for my stay in Singapore. My travel agent had listed non-smoking on my itinerary, but had in fact booked smoking.
Once this was resolved, I assumed the call was over. But no... the agent, whose name I wish I'd written down, took another 10 minutes to get more information from me to put into my reservation, as well as both making notes in my reservation and sending a separate email to the hotel manager reminding him of the Platinum upgrades (he said the overseas properties tend to 'forget' to do the upgrades otherwise) and to please arrange to have someone give me "tourist tips" upon arrival.
I haven't really done justice summarizing his efforts... needless to say, it left me with a warm fuzzy feeling about Marriott (something which I kept reminding myself of as the Marriott Santa Clara tonight kept moving me from room to room, all right next to the elevator, which is LOUD!)
Thanks, Marriott!</font>
If you still have your confirmation number they'll be able to obtain the agent's number and thus his/her name from the changes he/she made to your reservations
