I'm the last person to defend Delta's award search engine, but I should point out that the ability to hold awards on DL.com is an advantage that often outweighs NWA.com's ability to book more complex routings online. In any case my point was that you can book complex itineraries with DL miles if you know what you're doing.
DL.com doesn't show (most) partner flights, but they can still be booked by phone.
So Delta.com NEVER shows KE award availability?? You always have to call and ask for it? I didnt know that..
So someone tell me what the proper procedure is if I want to go to BKK next year for a week on KE and am totally flexible for anytime FEB/MAR/APR....do I simply call DL and ask them to start looking up every date permutation possible for those 3 months until they find LOW inventory? Seems like that could take hours and annoy the agent. Or do they have special programs that will instantly provide dates with LOW inventory if you are flexible?
