40 Minute Layover DTW (PHX-DTW-MKG), Your Advice Please
Hey guys I'm a relatively new guy to the FlyerTalk boards. Love this site, thanks for all the great info I get from you all. First time poster on DL, posted before on YX.
I had a maybe stupid, silly question but I want some expert advice from you all please.
I'm trying to figure out if I wanna by a ticket on Delta/Northwest flying home from PHX-DTW-MKG. I can fly home on 12/24 for a one way fare of 430.00 bucks, which is a good deal for MKG.
So this flight has a 40 minute layover. Is this enough time in DTW, assuming no weather delays, but there probably will be, plus having a checked bag as well.
What are the chances NW will hold a flight? Slim to none? Do they pad on extra time to cover their behind on the flight schedule, I know it doesn't take an hour to fly from DTW to MKG 40 minutes at most, 30 minutes usually, but PHX - DTW could be kinda dicey, as well as transfering from one end of Terminal A to Terminal C.
I would hate to be stranded in DTW.
I even called Reservations and the agent was like you will be fine, your bag will make it to MKG and you will do fine with 40 minutes, I'm sure that is the usual runaround, risk I'm taking.
I think I know the answer to the question but would love your advice please, my flyertalk friends.
Thanks guys.
Charlie.
