I don't have a set budget but would say that I generally spend $200+ in big cities (Chicago, SFO, BOS, etc.),$150+ in biggish cities and around $100 in smaller places. I generally never stay at the discounted parts of chains (e.g., Fairfield Inn, Hampton Inn, etc.). I just find the service and amenities to be lacking. If my employer insists on me being away from home so much, they better provide mye with the funds to do so in style!
