Glad you all liked your stay in the town. Do check out Trinity next door, they are a good upscale bar/restaurant and they particpate on both Opentable.com and IDINE.

Amanda's is another place with an insanely cheap prix fixe before 6:00 PM, I think, totally uspcale resaurant there. It often has special wine dinners, to give you the gist of the place.

All should also remember that one can take the #126 Bus that cruises down Washington St directly into Port Authority Bus terminal near Times Square. I think the fare is currently $2.55 each way, exact change.
I had never heard of Carlos Bakery. I was just wandering down the street and saw people streaming in. I thought I'd go in and see what the fuss was. Man, really good biscotti!!! They came in very handy on that long flight to Cairo - made that awful airplane coffee tolerable.
I had thought of taking the bus back to the hotel, but it was late and, being a solo woman, decided to spend the money and get that taxi. Otherwise, I would have taken the bus.
The next time I go to NYC, I'll stay there again and spend more time exploring the neighborhood, sampling the food. It seems to be a nice counterpoint to the sensory overload of Manhattan.
