I can't seem to get a straight answer from AA or CX on this- hoping someone has some experience to share.

I'm a AA PLT flying ORD-NRT(AA)-HKG(AA/CX), spending a few days in HKG, then HKG-TPE(CX), a few more days, and then TPE-NRT(JL/AA)-ORD(AA). My entire trip was booked via AA and I have a single Record Locator / PNR for it.

The problem is that I need to bring some extra gear with me and I will likely be over the 20kg allowance CX offers.

Will I run into trouble on my HKG-TPE leg? Will CX let my OW Sapphire status get me the extra 15kg allowance they offer their folks? Or does my single AA booking let me take more?
