Even for companion upgrade- they process after ALL upgrades. A non-medallion companion of a platinum on the same PNR will only get upgraded after the last silver clears (and if they are in an eligible fare class). If a silver is on the same PNR as a Platinum, they both get upgraded as silvers. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

I'm sure this is right, which is why the OP shouldn't seperate the PNR -- so there is at least a best chance of getting 1 UG as opposed to better change of getting 2 UGs. Does that make sense?
