Also- as a point of clarification, I think Reserve Status only helps if you are a Reserve card holder, not necessarily if your ticket was purchased by someone elses Reserve card.
Wrong on both; depending on if the SM is hoping for a companion UG or an UG based on her status. Also, re the Reserve card... it has happens to me all the time; if I by both mine and my wife's tix w/the Reserve card, we both are moved to top of our tier along with any others who used the card.. then ranking comes down to who has the higher fare class. However, only the primary card holder gets the double (AMEX) MQMs, if enrolled.
