Reports state that non-Japanese citizens must pass through the non-Japanese lanes at immigration (tourist or re-entry permit holder lanes). Typically, families divide up at the gates and meet up on the other side.

It might be possible for your Japanese wife to join you in the non-Japanese line. I'm not sure about that.
