I'm going to be flying from JFK to SFO on December 17th. I know it's early to be thinking about it, but I need to arrange for transportation now so I know what I'm doing

My flight leaves at 9:00 AM. I'll be flying on American Airlines and I believe it's out of Terminal 8. Would getting to JFK around 7-7:30 AM be okay if I check in online and print boarding passes at home, or would I need to get there earlier? I have a seat chosen already if that makes any difference, and I'd have one checked bag with me.
I've also never driven to NYC before. I'll be leaving from Pennsylvania (a bit north of Philadelphia, in Pottstown) and was wondering if you guys had any input on how bad morning traffic is going to JFK. Google Maps tells me to go PA Turnpike to NJ Turnpike to 95 North to 278 E to Belt Parkway (I'm not sure if there's an easier/shorter way as I'm not familiar with that drive at all). It says it's about 2 hours 15 minutes with no traffic. How much time do you think I should give myself to get there, assuming I'm leaving from PA in the early morning?
I really appreciate any help. I haven't flown out of JFK before so I'm really unfamiliar with getting there, drive times, etc.
