24-hour ticket cancellation only valid for itineraries originating in the US?
That's what I was told last night by a ticketing agent. I was booking an itinerary originating in Europe and was told that the 24-hour cancellation policy did not apply to tickets originating in Europe. I expressed my surprise and was told it has always been this way.
So in addition to having to pay ridiculously high fees for tickets originating in Europe, this 24-hr cancellation option is not available.
I usually don't originate in Europe, but an urgent matter has come up that sends me back to the US within the middle of a US-Europe-US itinerary and rather than change my return, I am just buying a Europe-US-Europe ticket.
Not too happy about this policy. Why the discrimination against European originating tickets?
