Some recent problems I have had that seem to fall in line with other reports:
1) Since Oct. I have noticed that once immediate updates to my account are painfully slow
2) When my account is updated at Delta.com, they are now labeling all flights on the same itinerary with the same idintifier. For example, BOS-JFK and then JFK-PIT are both labelled as BOS-PIT. I guess this is okay, but it adds confusion when I try to figure out what legs are missing in the account updates...unfortunately this IS a recent problem. If I logon at NWA.com, however, I found that they do continue to label each leg independently.
3) I have recenly been booked on delta flights that were cancelled at the last minute. I imediately received e-mail and phone notifications that my flights had been cancelled, and I had been rebooked on a NWA flight instead. It appears that this was an automatic process and everything had been taken care of - right? Not so fast...as soon as I go to a counter at the airport, it seems that my reservation is in some type of purgatory. Employees at the counter pound away at the keyboard for 10 minutes, get on the phone, pund away some more... The last time this happened (on a trip to Zurich), it seems the NWA attendant ended up making a new entry into the system. In doing this, my SkyMiles info was not entered, and by the time I noticed, I found my bags failed to get the Priority labeling, and my seating was less than ideal. Upon returning from this trip, I find that these flights have not been updated in my account. They do not appear on Delta.com, and 1/2 of the segments appear at NWA.com but with the indication that they do not qualify for mileage credit
4) On a selfish note, I also have the impression that when I get on these last minute Delta to NWA rebookings, I am not getting entered into the upgrade queue. I am a Platinum medallion, and it is extremely rare that I do not get upgraded - even when I make last minute changes to my itinerary. If Delta, however, switches me to NWA at the last minute, I always see a couple of empty seats at the front of the cabin as I take my seat in a fully packed coach section.
I know upgrades are not part of the program for international flights, but I have found that I am routinely upgraded on full flights by Delta personnel at the gate. If I am not upgraded, it is common that the head attendand tracks me down and thanks me for my business and makes sure I have a pleasant flight. Once again, it appears that I am lost in the system when rebooked on NWA.
5) On a positive note, which I am sure will be corrected, not in my favor...I noticed that the NWA.com website shows me to have about 2x the lifetime miles that I really have.
