Somehow I don't think so. If you enter Hong Kong from Shenzhen (ie surface transport) you should see the sorts of fruits and vegetables are being brought in from China - in plain sight of the HK Customs officials. And at HKIA it's not that often that I see Customs asking someone to open their luggage - like once every 20 trips.
