Move up to Earlier Flight

Hi,

I'm planning to book an evening flight with a companion since it's cheaper. I'm CP but my companion has no status. If I book on the same PNR, will my companion have to pay the $50.00 move up fee? I know I wouldn't but wasn't sure about my companion flying with me.
