I read the article 'Advice to Travellers' posted on the Hong Kong Customs website -- three times. They make no mention of prohibiting travelers from bringing FRESH fruits into Hong Kong.

Since there is an omission, I wanted to as this forum if there is such restriction OR that I can bring the fresh fruit without penalty|confiscation.

I've been told by one HK local that I CAN bring in fresh fruits because there are no farmlands in HK. Yet reading a Yahoo posting, a few people (who didn't say where they are from or who they are) said no, but hadn't cited any authority.

I'm hoping that I can find out what the reality is.
