This is Monopoly power (and pricing) at its best. With two carriers, we had later flights, with only one carrier, they had to get rid of the late flight. Interesting.

To add to the frustration. There IS a 9:30pm flight from YYZ to YVR, but it then carries on to HKG. They stop in YVR to load, but you can not unload. Seems like alot of empty seats going YYZ-YVR

I would be curious to know how empty the old 9:30 Cdn flight was. It was a 767 and I seem to recall it being fairly full (though my memory sucks!). I think a better solution for such a critical coridor would have been to at least put a smaller plane on rather than cancelling outright. 7:30 is just tooooo early.
