F check-in is not a hike if you get a car to drop you off at the far entrance and the walk is not particularly long to security (although I agree there should be a closer, private security channel going directly to the CCR - like JFK).

The reason why F check in is at the end of the building is to give the area privacy (no walk-past traffic) and also because the checked bags go in a separate container (for long haul), and this area is where they have the priority containers below the concourse.
