Yes, you must split the PNR, as the previous poster mentioned. But be sure to mention GG 1ST BAG and GG 2ND BAG if the check-in agents wish to charge your friends for checking bags. All of your friends should get bags checked.

I would also split off one PAX on another PNR, so that he/she can be added to the companion list at the airport. To do this at the airport, the check-in agent will also need to do this, but you'll lose valuable time.
