I wouldn't go to Tasmania. Too cold, too much like Europe, generally lackluster accommodation, too boring. Though some of the food can be good but still wanting compared to regional terroir in Europe. Though if you are avid bushwalking types (hint 4nts in Blue Mountains) then you might like it. But if I were to fly over water from mainland Australia I would be going to New Zealand and not Tassie.
