I'll be staying at this hotel for a conference for about one week early next year. Any idea what is typically confirmed with the Diamond suite upgrades? If I get a suite upgrade that is not on the GC floor will I still have GC access? Some have reported the new tower is nicer, how does one know which tower you are in eg can you tell by the room numbers? Is one tower closer to the conference/convention facilities?

Initially I figured would be best to get a suite on the GC floors, but not sure how easily this will be available?

Also approximate distance from SAN, and best (will not have a rental car) taxi/shuttle costs/options?
