Weird. I fly ex-IAD 95% of my flights, and usually just wave my BP at the premium lane checker--including times I don't have time to stop at a UA kiosk and get one on gold cardstock and just have the paper ones from home.

Granted, that's flying UA, which does participate, but given how little attention they've given, I find it surprising they are so strict in others' experience. I've seen pax walking to the checkpoint (when it was upstairs) who simply said, "Premium... hey, we're 'premium,' aren't we?" (Had a blue UA BP in zone 4 from what I could see... as far from premium as they could get.) No lane dragon even challenged them.
