No worries - I asked for comments, so yours are just as welcome. Note however I'm looking for flights in late 2010 or early 2011. That means booking quite soon, so decided to boost my miles now.
I am just about to redeem 12,000 tescos clubcard points for around 40,000 BA airmiles. I did it buying PAYG phones with extra clubcard points and selling them on ebay. I recogn my outlay for the last quarter is under £200 and that includes buying two food shops!
Take a look at paidtoshop.co.uk, its invaluable for me.
Thanks. I'm already familiar with PTS. We have two Amex PPCs, and try to get maximise our Tesco Clubcard points from normal shops. Good luck to those pulling in loads of Tesco CC points from selling phones on ebay, but I'm not sure I have time for all that. The calculation that matters for me is the price of flying to Oz in CW (fully paid) versus the 'price' of scraping together enough BA miles to do it as a redemption.
Accept availabilty may turn out to be the killer in the end. In that case, we can still blow the miles on a 241 to Vegas or somewhere like that, so not completely wasted.
