We're currently working towards 200,000* miles in the hope of grabbing CW redemptions to SYD, with Amex 241 (just triggered), in late 2010 or early 2011.
(*Actually, we really want to go at least 25000 miles over before booking the flights down under, to provide a continuing 'float' for North America MFUs as required!)
This miles purchase takes us a whole lot closer to the target (now up to 170,000), and
seemed to be worth doing. Interested to know what others think.
Next decision is whether to do another 'max purchase' for Mrs LF...

Well that is so spooky its unreal - i could have posted almost the exact same thing to the point that i checked with Mrs NGEddie that she wasn't posting under a name i didn't know about - we are looking at a lhr-syd redemption in 2010/11 as our 241 has just triggered. We have bought 19000+extra miles taking our account upto 168k and was wondering whether to do it on her account as well......
the comments about tough availability on redemptions has made me stop and do more research into it for now though. Are those comments specifically c/w related? i.e. would it be easier to hold off for another year (24mth 241) and try and get 300k for first (would be tough).
