Interesting idea, but I doubt it would help. All too often, I see pax carrying BPs designated Group 4 (and higher) crowding the boarding area. I'll bet AA could start the general boarding numbers at Group 57 and some of those folks would still be blocking the way.
I agree. The only known solution to the gate lice problem is flamethrowers. Even more fun is watching these same people when they get on the airplane. They always want to check the row numbers in first class, in case their seat (37F) is the first one on the plane, and somehow magically got much bigger. So I can easily see them thinking AA would start boarding with group 57.
