Again, this was a year ago, but I didn't get the impression that Aer Lingus was particularly keen on improving their offering - especially if it costs money. It really felt like being somewhere between Ryanair and BA...
To be fair - in that year most of the long-haul fleet that existed then now has new seating and AVOD. Coupled with the new aircraft that joined and the ones that left the EI Y experience miles better than what was on offer before in terms of seating and entertainment. I think only 1 or 2 non-upgraded aircraft are left and one is due to go soon.
I have a vague recollection of seeing power-points in Y. I didn't bother using them as the AVOD kept me entertained!
