I'm just putting this out ther if anyone is interested.... I returned from thailand about a month ago and am just getting around to the trip report and what not. Anyways concerning tuk tuk's yes I did get ripped a couple of times and did get left at a massage parlor when I told him to wait.... But I had a really reliable and honest tuk tuk driver for 4/5 days that I was in bangkok. I paid 50 bhat an hour to charter a tuk tuk off of khoasan road. I don't know if this is a good price or a rip off but it was nice to always have a driver waiting when I got done sight seeing or shopping and not have to always be on the lookout for my next ride and playing the barter game. The first day I used the guy for 10 hours no problems.. Also he spoke english fairly well and took me and my buddy to all the sights in bangkok.. I mean we didn't even know where we wanted to go and he said no problem i'll take you to all the sights.... I thought he would take us the all the tailors and jack spots or the gems gallery but.... no problem no detours to any of these places... Also to put the icing on the cake he took us to MBK for shopping and I happened to leave my wallet in the back with quite a bit of money in it and when I realized about and hour later I ran back outside and the guy was waiting for me and all the money and identification was still there...
