Crediting flights to earn hotel points is not something that can happen directly with any of the US based airline programs.
While DL points can be converted to hotel points through things like Points.com, such transfer leads to such a major loss in value that it makes even DL management's significant devaluation of SkyMiles miles since the start of 2008 look generous in comparison.
Some airlines -- like AA -- can have their miles converted into Hilton points at a far more reasonable cost, but if considering that then be aware that Hilton is poised to put into place a major devaluation of Hilton points for redemption bookings made next year.
