I received the e-mail from Le Meridien KL the day before my scheduled check-in, letting me know that we had received an upgrade to a Royal Club room; not a suite.

That wasn't delightful, as we know that the regular rooms are quite small, and if you get a corner room....

We checked in at the lounge, and the lounge attendant said, after I wondered whether we might be able to get a suite: let me check, and later said check back around 8pm.

The cocktail hour here is 6:30 till 8:30, and around 8:15 an attendant approached us with the good news that our suite was ready, and would we like to move immediately!

I just received an email from Le Meridien Kuala Lumpur that I have been upgraded to Premier Club Room for my stay tomorrow. I have been staying at the hotel quite often, and have most often been upgraded to a suite.
