My son has the same problem as you. He's 6'7". Usually the FA will put him in an exit row because it's annoying for the FA to keep tripping over his legs in the aisle since they don't fit under the seat in front of him. He's a hindrance when the beverage cart rolls down the aisle too.

Suggest at check-in (and again at the gate if check-in doesn't come through) that they place you in the seat they think would be best. You might get lucky.
