AC's check-in at NRT is performed by ANA. They handle the AC flights at designated counters, and I believe they open 3-4 hours prior to the departure of AC's earlier flight.

Your best bet would be to give AC reservations in Tokyo a call. They'll be able to tell you exactly when the counters open, and would probably know whether getting to the airport earlier would better the chances of your UG clearing. Good luck!
