There's lots of good information on the TUG boards Marriott forum about turning the certs back in for points and extending them. See previous post for link back to TUG.

.. I also recall seeing a post on TUG that included a list of airline awards that are in miles vs coupons. The only difference I saw was that they said NW is miles.
