You can get arrested for losing with a cop. They call it "disorderly conduct". It's quite possible the charges will be dropped later, but they can throw a hitch in your day. I think its another good use of a video-capable phone so that if you want to register a complaint, you have video evidence of what made you lose it.

My wife lost it with French security. But my wife has extravagant requirements when it comes to "respectful behavior" from anyone, including those in uniform. I try to keep my temper in check. I figure that insulting cops have insecure personalities. I think that correlates with the hunger for a uniform. I don't expect people to despise me, so I've little or no wish for a uniform of any kind.
