it's now very easy to put in a usefully descriptive title as a hyperlink, rather than the url gobbledygook which may give no hint at all as to what the link is about.

Marriott Reward Changes on TUG
takes you to the same place as

but we know what it is in advance and can decide if we want to follow the link.

Similarly, Changes to Marriott Rewards? is much more informative than http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum63/HTML/000643.html

It's easy too! When you're posting, just click on the *UBB Code is ON link directly to the left of the box you type your posts in. The very first subject is URL Hyperlinks, which tells you exactly how to put links, and links with titles, in your posts. You can even copy the formula into your post and then substitute the real data until you get used to it (that's what I did).

It has the added benefit of eliminating those incredibly long URLs that crop up occasionally and mess up everybody's screen.

I didn't know this was an option until Dataton on the Delta forum showed the way, so I thought I'd mention it here.

(Of course, it helps if you put the correct URL in, however you do it!)
