How can a 6'10" freqent flyer always get a good seat?
Hope this is the right forum. I am 6'10" and have to fly 4 times a month for work. I am amazed that airlines will not accomidate me when buying a seat and put me in an exit row, or even on the day of the flight. About 60% of the time I end up getting an exit row (I am more than willing & able to help out in an emergency) but the last few times I was in a regular seat. Ive delt with it but it's now come to the point where I simply hate flying becuase I get claustrophic. I don't fit in an airline seat unless I reline it back. This worked for awhile until the flight attendents saw that it was reclined and wouldn't let the plane leave the gate. They then switched me to an exit row seat and the other time I basiclly sat sideways with my legs in the isle, which really sucks for 6 hours.
How can I get an exit row when booking a flight? If you tell that you can't fit in a regular seat will they not want to lose the sale to another airline or could they care less? It's not like Im fat and can buy two seats. I am willing to pay more for a seat with a bit more leg room, but never see it as an option.
My company will only buy the lowest fare seats but I now have convinced them to keep me with one airline. I should be able to become a medallion member with delta by the end of next year. Any advice until then? Will Delta sell a exit row seat on booking to a medallion member? I chose delta becuse they have flight to every city I travel to from NYC airports.
