No its not a huge mistake but anyone could have jumped up in there. Should I report this? Great job by AA when we are at one of the highest threat levels
I wouldn't worry about it. The "threat level", which I don't give any credibility to, hasn't changed in how long?
There are still many commuter flights where there is no wall between the cockpit and the passenger cabin. As there is no FA on board, the FO typically turns around in his/her seat and gives a quick safety briefing.
Have also been on flights abroad (post 9/11/01) where cockpit doors have been left open for various reasons ... some international carriers still allow guests to visit the flight deck.
