I am assuming that if the tunnel is open I can just walk through the tunnel with my carry-on (no checked baggage) and avoid TSA. If it is not open do I have to go through TSA again? I have about two hours for the connection.
I'm not in T6 or T5 very often, so I can't tell you for certain if the tunnel is open, but I suspect it will be.

If that's the case, yes, you can transit behind TSA security. Otherwise, you will need to exit T5 and reclear T6 security.
