Have I ever went off on a TSAer at the airport? No.

Have I ever seen others go off on a TSAer at the airport? Yes.

I'm perhaps more prepared than the standard traveler at the airport. I've had several egregious displays of behavior from the TSA, happy to say I've never had it escalate from my end.

They say knowledge is power. And I use it to the best of my ability against a rogue screener. If someone is out of line, I won't hesitate to go to a supervisor and follow-up with a letter to the appropriate party(ies).

Why? Not just because it's the right thing to do on principle, but it also stops the problem of problem behavior from organically growing. Will it completely eradicate it? Of course not, but you've stopped what you can. Maybe a TSAer who sees another get discipline will think twice when they decide to harass passengers.

The biggest benefit is to affect the TSAer personally. Legitimate complaints about their performance go on their record. And I am more than happy to have my input on their PASS score, their ability to get a promotion and/or a raise when they think they're up for one, through filing a legitimate complaint. That's about the only way a passenger can get back at a TSAer.
