I called and asked about getting an early upgrade to platinum - I had 15 nights remaining. I let them know I was Hyatt Diamond. They told me they couldn't do it. Since then, I have stayed 18 nights (out of 21 needed for a hilton challenge) and 10 more nights at Hyatt. I was also status matched to SPG's highest level.
I still need 15 nights to reach platinum at Marriott. As of right now, I'm considering keeping it that way and just focusing on maintaining Hyatt, Hilton, and SPG next year.
